In its continuing commitment to sustainability in structural repairs and restoration, Structural Systems Repair Group (SSRG) is pleased to announce that two key members of its team recently have earned accreditation as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals (AP).
Recently achieving their LEED-AP status are Bill Smith, project manager, and Josh Hollis, a professional engineer (PE) and project manager at SSRG. By earning this accreditation from the Green Building Certification Institute, they join other LEED-AP project managers, engineers and executives at SSRG and its parent company, HGC Construction.
"Executing environmentally responsible restoration and repairs is a priority at our company," said Mike Breetz P.E., President of SSRG. "With our expertise and experience in structural repairs and historic preservation, we are leaders in practicing sustainable construction. We have LEED Accredited Professionals in all areas of project management and engineering."
The professional accreditation recognizes individuals with extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles as well as familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. The LEED Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. The voluntary LEED system was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, a non-profit organization composed of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
As LEED Accredited Professionals, SSRG's project managers have the expertise to guide a building project to achieve LEED Certification, by ensuring it meets the sustainable design and performance criteria set forth in the LEED Green Building Rating System and overseeing the submission of required documentation to the U.S. Green Building Council for review and rating.
